About This Coffee

AMUCAPALMA: Women who cultivate coffee, identity, and future

In the mountains of the Huila department, the strength of a collective dream was born. There, in a land where coffee is tradition and pride, a group of visionary women came together, determined to work united for the well-being of their families and the development of their territory. With their main base in the village of La Palma, at 1,800 meters above sea level, AMUCAPALMA—the Association of Women Coffee Growers of La Palma—came to life.

Each member of AMUCAPALMA leads a small coffee farm, where she cultivates the Caturra and Castillo varieties with dedication, carefully processed using the traditional washed method. In these privileged highlands, the women not only produce coffee: they build opportunities, preserve ancestral knowledge, and elevate agricultural labor into an expression of identity.

Their connection to the land is profound. Through environmentally respectful practices—protecting water sources, caring for wildlife, and engaging in continuous reforestation—the women of AMUCAPALMA reaffirm that sustainability is an essential part of their philosophy. For them, cultivating coffee is also an act of gratitude toward nature.

But AMUCAPALMA is much more than a productive project. It is a community that uplifts each other: women who are mothers, farmers, entrepreneurs, and leaders—fundamental pillars of their homes and their region. Together, they have made their way in an industry long shaped by male leadership, proving that coffee excellence also springs from women’s empowerment.

AMUCAPALMA’s coffee stands out not only for its quality; it tells a story. A story of courage, collective work, and love for the land. In every cup travels the voice of these women who, from the mountains of Huila, cultivate not only coffee but the future of their communities.
